Halifax Launches 18 Month Remortgage Product

Halifax are today launching their 1.5 year Fixed rate offering, available to remortgage customers at various loan-to-value brackets.

There are 5 products available, each with a £1,499 arrangement fee. All options have an initial Early Repayment Charge of 2%, reducing to 1% in the remaining 12 months of the product. Interest rates are as follows:

60% loan-to value- 4.37%

75% loan-to-value- 4.62%

80% loan-to-value- 5.04%

85% loan-to-value- 5.25%

90% loan-to-value- 5.63%

The products all include £250 cashback paid on completion, unlike other Halifax remortgage products there are no free conveyancing services provided.

Halifax will be hoping the products provide a competitive niche in the remortgage space, offering stability the form of a Fixed product but shorter term flexibility in what continues to be an uncertain market for interest rates.
